There were no Minutes from the Special Meeting held June 22, 2018.   This meeting was called to accept Pam Campbell’s resignation and to finalize the Club Profile and Budget Request to the POA.

Treasurers Report:  Ruth Naponick gave the Treasurer’s Report for the period ending August 30, 2018.  Balance: $4,951.60.   Total Membership:  142

Unfinished Business

Pam Campbell’s resignation as Secretary of the QCTC, effective May 8, 2018, was accepted at the Special Meeting held on June 22, 2018.  Judy Sypkens agreed to fill the position of Secretary for the remainder of Pam’s term, which will end March 31, 2019.

Sahaurita High School Tennis Event.  Don Callen has been in touch with the new Tennis Coach.  They are working on the format for this event which will be held in February or March, 2019.

Tennis Ball Recycling.  Ted Zickefoose has been sorting the tennis balls for use in the ball machine, practice hoppers, etc.  Ted will be moving and we need to find someone else to do this job.  Since there is not a reasonable place to recycle the balls, it was agreed that balls not used for the ball machine, etc., would be tossed.

Randy Kimbrell announced that the Club’s request for the fence painting at the tennis courts was approved by the POA.  The painting will probably take place in January or February, 2019.  The Club will pay 30% of the total estimate.  Randy will contact C & L Electrostatic Painting to finalize the work.

Court Washing has been moved to Saturdays.  Three courts will be washed at a time, two weeks apart.

There are 5 nets in reserve and 0 scorekeepers.  Discussed looking for a different type of scorekeeper for the courts.  Rich Kahn will research and report to the Board.

Briefly discussed proposing a By-Law change to Article VI. Elections. Section 1, B.  It now states that nominees are required to be active, playing members of the QCTC and year round residents.  We would like to encourage QCTC members who may travel for a few months to still run for Board Positions.  The Board can propose amendments to the bylaws and they can be changed with an affirmative vote of 2/3 of all members present at a meeting designated for that purpose.  Tabled to October 1 Meeting.

The Board agreed that we will hold the balance of our Board Meetings at the Kino Center.  First Monday of the month at 2:00 p.m.  Secretary will send notice to members of these meetings.  General Membership meetings are to be held on the first Wednesday of February, March and November.

The QCTC Web Page had a problem loading from mobile devices.  Rick Kimes contacted the website operators.  From Rick: The old mobile site “https//m.quailcreektennis.com” is no longer correct. The regular desktop site www.quailcreektennis.com should now get you the mobile web site on any devise. For tablet users, there is an option on the bottom of the page to use the desktop site, which works better on my tablet.

Ruth Naponick will update of Welcome Letter to include new officers.  We need to check the website to see if Judy Sypkens is listed at Secretary.  (Rosie sent a message to Rick Kimes to make this change).

Social with Robson Ranch:  Rich Kahn has been working on this with Robson Ranch.  We have approximately 34 people interested in playing.  Rich will finalize the numbers with RR.  The date for this will be October 20th.  Rich proposed chartering a bus.  He will followup.

Rich and Randy proposed that we do something for Ted Zickefoose for his volunteer work over the past 6 years.  Board Members have set up a lunch with Ted, on Monday, September 17t at 11:30 at the Madera Clubhouse.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
